Today we were shown the site www.ilovebees.com, for those the don't know it was a promotional website set up for Halo 2 where the site first looked like a hobby site set up by someone talking about how much they liked bees. As the weeks went on the site started to change as if it had been hacked and as the weeks went on the site changed more and more till it looked like it had been completely hacked by some unknown group of people trying to post some secret information. In the end it was reviled that it was for Halo 2 and we talk about how this type of interactive story telling was "thinking outside of the box" in the way of getting a story across because the website had hundreds of thousands of people looking at it to see what would happen next.
After that we talking about a you tube girl named lonelygirl14, it was a story created by posting video diaries that people though was real until later on when people started to investigate about the girl that was posting on the videos.

Half way through the class we got to meet our 2nd life teacher who is going to be helping us with using 2nd life to take the in game footage that we need for out movies that we are going to be making.

So set up my account and made my character and flew around a bit and checked out some islands to see what the game is like and get a feel for it.

I do have images to post of my adventures but i left them on the computers at the university so i will post them at a later date .

Week 5

This week we worked on our scripts for a bit and then talk about how a character is made though the clothes that is wears to the way it talks.
We did a few writing exercises to help us develop our characters better then we watched the lord of the rings DVD on the making of Smeegal and how the character changed completly though the making of the film and how they went about making the changed that they made to get the final product.

Week 4

This week we watched an episode of "Sinfield". we looked at the way that the episode was structured and how it lead up to the "Crisis points" in the episode and how they were resolved and merged back into one story by the end of the episode.
After that we worked on our scripts for pretty much the rest of the class.

week 3

We had a week off from class this week since the teacher had to go to a public school for a talk with school kids about 2nd life.
so we didn't have to come into class so i worked on my script at home pretty much all morning and then went to 2nd class.

2nd Week

2ND week of class and didn't really do much besides watch an episode of Sinfield and talk about the story elements, how it builds its self up and turning points and talk about story ideas for the machinima that we have to make for the class.

Talk a bit about how 2ND life is going to work in the machinima and how the apartment that we are being given to work with is going to be build with other rooms around it for us to work with and that we can have 2 characters one the one account.

Still have no idea what can been done it 2ND life as we have not even been shown the game yet.

First week, First blog.
Started our interactive story telling classes and found out that we are going to be creating a script for a movie that we are going to be making using video captured in 2nd life (an online game).
